      Summer Edible Plant Walk - Mer Bleue Bog

      Meet the wonderful wild plants and mushrooms popping up right in your backyard!  Join forager, wildcrafter, and educator Bryan Dowkes for an introduction to foraging. Learn how to safely identify, ethically harvest, and prepare wild summer edibles common to our forests, fields, and waterways. Get to know species such as cattail, labrador tea, blueberries and more . The walk will take about 2.5 hours at a leisurely pace. Feel free to bring a notebook and camera. Where: Mer Bleue Bog Trail. Meet at the trail head parking lot (NCC P22), accessible off Ridge Rd. east of Anderson Rd. When: Saturday, July 20 from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm  Note: Event will take place rain or shine. Come prepared for the weather!Kid Friendly Event: Attendees 15 and under who are accompanied by an adult are free. Just RSVP to reserve the appropriate number of spaces.
